For the fifth day, over 20, 000 buses remained off the roads in AP and Telangana as the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) employees continued with their strike even after the Hyderabad High Court ordered the strike to be discontinued immediately.

With one lakh employees remained off duty, the two state governments are making attempts to hold discussions with the RTC Unions. Even with the management trying to run bus services with the help of contract workers, the public are the one who have been impacted the most.

While Telangana Home Minister N. Narasimha Reddy will be briefing Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao about the deliberations, Finance Minister Y. Ramakrishnudu from AP is holding talks with leaders of striking employees to resolve the issue.

APSRTC have agreed to hike the salaries by 27 percent, but the employees are demanding 43 percent hike in salaries at par with the government employees in the two states.
