Hyderabad: Faced with strong opposition from a section of farmers to part with land for construction of new city in the capital region development authority area, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to go ahead with land acquisition of about 900 acres under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act-2013.
The government, to this effect, issued a notification as per GO 166 late on Thursday night. Addressing the media, Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said the District Collector of Guntur would be taking an initiative to notify the lands to be acquired under the LRR Act in a day or two.
