With farmers, plot owners and real estate developers filing petitions in the Hyderabad High Court defying the GO 166 that was issued by the AP Government, the Capital City construction faces a challenge for invoking the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act for land acquirement.


The petition stated that according to the provisions of the Chapters 2 and 3 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Act 2013, the AP Government had no right to exempt the Capital region Development Authority.


Seeking suspension of the GO 166, the petitioners argued that the CRDA should not be exempted as only national security, rural infrastructure and defence projects for the country will be given exemptions.
