A housewife faced the brunt of getting a facial at a local beauty parlour in Guntur when she suffered from serious reactions turning her whole face black. Identified as M Kanyakumari, visited Sandhya’s Ladies Beauty Parlour for makeup but experienced a burning sensation and contacted a doctor at GGH Guntur who informed her that due to the facial scrub, she had suffered a chemical reaction.

The doctor has prescribed treatment for two months and asked her not to expose herself to the sun while the family of Kankyakumari plans to sue the beauty parlour. On the other hand, Ms M. Sandhya, the owner of the parlour chose not to comment on the incident and removed the display board in front of her house.

Dermatologist at GGH, S. Nageswaramma who had diagnosed Kanyakumari supposed that the beautician might have applied glycolic or other acids to peel off the dead skin, a procedure that is to be done only by dermatologists or specialized experts. However, she added that the victim would be normal within weeks and could file a case against the owners of the beauty parlour at the consumer forum.

Arundalpet CI A.V. Siva Prasad said that the police would initate action if the victim lodged a case against the parlour but as of now, no complaint has been received on the issue.
