Vijayawada: Stating that the State would attract new investors and infrastructure if the law and order is under control, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu asked police to develop data-based policing instead of physical force.

Addressing the people after releasing a new mobile application of Vijayawada police named ‘Fourth Lion’ here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said 90 per cent of the crime could be prevented if the people believe that the policing was strict.

He said that people of Andhra Pradesh are honest and of hardworking nature. “My dream came true today as there is no rowdyism in the State as a result of the measures taken by the State government,” he said.

Citing the policing in Singapore, Naidu said that there was no visible policing in that country. If there is any violation of rule by any individual, police would appear in large numbers and the violator would be fined on the spot, he said.

The Chief Minister said that the government was going to provide internet connectivity to every household at a fee of Rs 100 per month within six months. He asked police to make the capital region a destination for investment and infrastructure development with better maintenance of law and order.

Praising the beauty of river city Vijayawada, Naidu said riverfront capital development would attract many people. He said that such natural riverfront area would not be available at any place in the world. He said that over 5,000 acres land on Bhavani Island and other islands of Krishna river would be developed as a green belt to make the capital city a world-class one.

Earlier, Commissioner of Police A B Venkateswara Rao explained the features of new mobile app Fourth Lion through a power point presentation. He said that the app was developed by a local youth. The Chief Minister praised actor Sai Kumar for promoting the new mobile app of Vijayawada police as a brand ambassador.
