At a meeting held in Vijayawada, the Journalists' JAC along with several politicians and NGOs called for statewide protests to demand the Section 8 implementation as the failure of the centre to entrust the state with the assurance of section-8 has resulted in threat to AP’s self-respect.
Demanding the Centre to hand over the Governor with full powers of Hyderabad as per the state reorganization law, protesting journalists warned the governments of an intense movement like the United AP movement.
TDP minister Prathipati Pulla Pao said that the party would exert pressure on the central government over Section 8 implementation and if that does not take place, as per the article 3, Hyderabad should come under the centre's powers.
