Visakhapatnam: How soon Andhra Pradesh will have a separate High Court now depends on the Naidu government, according to Union Minister for Law and Justice D V Sadananda Gowda. The Union minister in a letter to Rajya Sabha member T Subbirami Reddy said the ball was now in Andhra Pradesh government’s court.

He said it was the responsibility of the AP government to identify the location for the High Court and provide necessary infrastructure in consultation with the Chief Justice of High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad. Gowda in his letter said he had earlier written to the AP government asking it to appraise the Centre about the steps taken and the progress made with regard to the setting up of the High Court or temporary Bench of the HC and once the AP government and the High Court take a decision on the location, the Central government will take immediate steps to issue necessary notification under the provisions of the law, he added.
