New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, said here on Friday that he was inviting not only the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to the foundation laying ceremony of the proposed world class Amaravati city, but also the Singapore and Japan Prime Ministers, “as they too are taking great interest in becoming partners in progress” of AP. The programme is scheduled to be held on October 22 and Naidu wants it to be a mega event.
"Not only these leaders, every Chief Minister of the country, including the Telangana Chief Minister (K Chandrasekhar Rao), will be invited", he said, Further explaining his grandiose plans for the State and the capital, he said his talks with the Japanese government and the country's industry and business honchos made him more confident about the future of the State.
While, every effort was being made to involve the excellence of these foreign collaborators in the progress paradigm, the overall emphasis was on waste-to-energy and waste management programmes, he said. Pointing out that AP generated 10,000 metric tonne of waste every day it would be used to produce 100 mw power with proper technical know-how from Japan.
A regulatory commission would be in place to monitor the power tariff, he assured. As for those who part with their lands for the proposed projects, such people would be entitled to developmental benefits later. A clear picture has emerged in the latest round of talks with the Japanese with regard to the developmental areas and projects that could come up with their equities (including Singapore Government agencies and companies).
He said an action plan would be in place soon for getting things going like smart grids, food processing units, ports, thermal stations, energy initiatives and waste-to-energy plans. Naidu said that he was also considering knitting together, education, medical and health departments with sports as it was a holistic approach. Six universities of excellence in six areas - Energy, Logistics, Water, Aqua, Hospitality and Sports - would come up.
Tirupati would be developed as one of the most modern cities insulating it from criminal forces with the latest technology, he said. Naidu extended a general invite to the people to visit AP during Pushkarams and seek the blessings of the river Godavari.
