SPB Reprimands Politicians Not To Politicise Pushkaram Tragedy. Veteran singer SP Balasubramanyam took politicians to task on his social networking site. He asked the politicians not to use tragic stampede for their political gains. Soon after news broke that a stampede in Godavari claimed 27 lives in Rajahmundry, politicians from across the parties criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu and police for his inaction.

SP Balasubramanyam expressed his heartfelt condolences to the deceased pilgrims.

"My heart bleeds for the departed souls yesterday at the Godavari Pushkar at Rajahmundry. My condolences to the next kith and kin and may Almighty bless the souls that left us.
Humble request to all the politicians at this juncture. Please, please, do not utilise this tragic situation for political benefits, to whichever party you belong to. Please unite together to help those who are in trauma.
Don't we all think that the pilgrims also should have a sense of discipline and act selfless? What can authorities do when thousands become unruly and selfish? If the cops act little aggressive to control the situation, we all say there was unnecessary excessive force adopted. If not, call them lethargic. Let us all be human and work for the harmony. God be with us all," he said.
