AP counsel for Krishna visits Prakasam barrage

Vijayawada: Supreme Court senior counsel A K Ganguly, who is arguing on behalf of Andhra Pradesh in Krishna water tribunal dispute in Supreme Court inspected Prakasam barrage here on Sunday.

Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao explained the senior counsel about the inflows of Krishna river, Munneru and Krishna ayacut. He said that the State government is planning to bring Godavari water to Krishna through Pattiseema lift irrigation project for the benefit of farmers.

The senior counsel enquired about the details of the barrage and inspected the barrage along with irrigation officials. Later, Ganguly visited Kanaka Durga temple and offered prayers to the presiding deity.
