In Telangana, around 2,01,256 pilgrims underwent treatment in medical camps. With 423 medical camps set up for 24x7 services in the ghats, pilgrims are heading there with problems of cold, skin irritation, skin infections, body pain, bruises and also severe headaches.


Andhra Pradesh principal secretary health Poonam Malakondaiah stated that they have sent out an appeal to heart patients, those suffering from diabetes and senior citizens to not go for the dip empty stomach as they might faint due to dehydration. She also said that the religious leaders have been asked to explain to the pilgrims that it is not wrong if they eat light and take a dip.


Also, the pilgrims are being succumbed to bruises and fractures as the ghats are slippery causing many to fall or slip. With six days of the festival completed, the E Coli levels are being monitored by adding Chlorine to the water.
