Stating that the caste groups were causing disrepute to the universities, Mr Rao added that police outposts will be set up on the campuses to restrict the menace and that Private Varsities Bill will soon be placed before the Cabinet.


The Minister also announced that the suicidal death of ANU B Arch student Rishikeswari will be probed by a retired IAS officer. Also, he said that the perpetuators behind the incident will not be spared. Mr Rao also elaborated the steps taken to control ragging in educational institutions that included - biometric attendance, barcode ID cards to students, CCTV Cameras in hostels along with VCs meeting in every three months
