Sankaram (Anakapalle): Tech-savvy Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launched his ambitious three-week ‘Mee Intiki, Mee Bhoomi’ programme, a State-wide project meant to digitise land records, here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said his earlier government began the process of rectification of revenue records in 2003 but the subsequent governments complicated the scheme as a result ownership was denied to the genuine property owners.

“The digitisation of records will help not only the land owners to enjoy their property peacefully but also help their children to get inheritance without any hassle,’’ CM told an impressive gathering which turned out despite hot and humid weather. He said the residual State has 2.24 crore survey numbers and 72 lakh pattadars and the entire information would be collected during the next 21 days and fed into the website `Mee Bhoomi’.

All the officials would visit the village to collect the information till August 31 and feed the information into this website.“This would put an end to the benami transactions. A few people were holding the entire land, denying the benefits to the genuine land owners. We will put an end to this practice in the interest of the farmers,’’ Naidu said and added that a fresh survey of the lands would be conducted after entire information was uploaded into the website.

Naidu said Aadhar would be linked to the revenue records for more authenticity of the ownership. The entire information would be made available online and farmers can know the details of their land records just by clicking their smart phones. Cautioning the revenue officials, Naidu said digitabs were given to VROs and tahsildars for this purpose and if they indulged in corruption, they would be sent to jail straight away. He reminded that 42 percent fitment was given to the employees only to make them serve the poor without indulging in corruption.
