The AP State bandh called by the CPI, Congress and other Opposition parties in support of special status for the state was peaceful and evoked good response from the people. Educational institutions and business establishments remained closed.
Hyderabad: The AP State bandh called by the CPI, Congress and other Opposition parties in support of special status for the state was peaceful and evoked good response from the people. Educational institutions and business establishments remained closed.
Activists of Opposition parties were taken into custody at different places as a precautionary measure. The bandh was almost total in several districts while it evoked a mixed response in Visakhapatnam and Chittoor districts. Buses were off the roads in East and West Godavari, Prakasam, Guntur, Kurnool, Kadapa and Anantapur districts.
