YSRCP leaders Roja and Peddireddy arrested, situation tense

YSR Congress Party MLAs Roja, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Amaranatha Reddy were arrested when they called for a massive dharna protesting against the arrest of Municipal Chairperson's son Suresh Kumar. The police took them into custody as a precautionary measure.
Situation got tense at Nagari and Punganuru with the arrest of the YSRCP leaders. Police personnel deployed was in Nagari town to ensure law and order and also imposed section 144 to avoid any untoward incidents.
Protesting against the arrests, the YSRCP leaders including MPTCs, Sarpanchs and other local leaders staged a sit in at Punganuru. The police also set up check posts and banned YSRCP cadre into the towns.
