Vijayawada: YSR Congress president and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, here on Wednesday vowed to restore agriculture activity in villages in the capital region. He accused the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of grabbing lands from the farmers to hand over them to corporates and assured to return all the lands and restore the multicrop cultivation.


Jagan held protest at the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) office here opposing forcible takeover of lands from the farmers for the capital construction. He said that the government was using force on the farmers to part with their lands. These lands would be given to the corporate companies, he said and alleged that the CM had become heartless leader.


He accused Naidu of misleading the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on the capital lands since the government projected the capital area lands as dry and single crop lands. He said that people of the State were aware of the fertile lands selected for the capital and wondered how the government was projecting them as dry lands.


YSRCP leader said that no one can stop him from becoming the next Chief Minister of the State. He said he would soon return the lands to the farmers and restore agriculture activity in the villages and alleged that Naidu betrayed the farmers and the people after coming to power. He said people would teach him a fitting lesson at an appropriate time.


He alleged that TDP government promised employment to one person in every family and unemployment stipend to youth. However, after coming to power, the two promises were totally ignored, he said and alleged that the government had removed several employees in the past one-and-a-half year.
