AP Assembly session day two begins with slogans

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Monsoon session Day two was adjourned after YSRC Party members surrounded the Speaker's podium shouting slogans demanding a discussion on special category status for AP.

Soon after the commencement of the House, the opposition members raised slogans waving placards in favour of Special Category Status. Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the Speaker to take up a discussion on the issue immediately instead of the Question Hour.

This move faced opposition from BJP and TDP who wanted the Question Hour. Legislative Affairs Minister Yenamala Ramakrishnudu intervened saying that the opposition cannot disturb the proceedings of the House and if they are not interested in the Question Hour, they could leave and return in time for the Special Category Status debate.

The opposition members reacted strongly on the remarks made by Y Ramakrishnudu which resulted in the adjournment of the House.
