Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday called on Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and invited him to the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the new state capital next month.

On the second day of his visit to Singapore, Naidu met the prime minister to extend the invitation, according to a statement issued in Hyderabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Amaravati on October 22.

Chandrababu tweeted:

The chief minister on Monday had called on Second Minister for Trade and Industry S. Iswaran and discussed the development of new state capital through Swiss Challenge method.

With the Singapore government already preparing three master plans for development of capital region, capital city and seed capital, Naidu is visiting that country to seek its partnership in construction of the capital city.
