A team of doctors who performed the surgery on her, removed a 10 cm tumour located between two large vessels near the liver.

Disclosing this to the press here on Wednesday, Dr M Manisegaran, surgical gastroenterologist of Manipal Hospital, said, Liver hemangioma is a very rare case.

The tumour of 10 cm in size is also a rare condition. After undergoing surgery, the patient is recuperating well. Her food intake has also increased.’’

Cautioning people against liver diseases, Dr Manisegaran said regular consumption of alcohol would severely affect the liver, pancreas and heart.

People should develop healthy food habits to keep liver diseases at bay, he said.Dr Surendra Jasti and Dr T Ravi Shankar, gastroenterologists, and Dr Sagar, anaesthetist, were also present at the news conference.
