New Delhi: Setting aside all speculation over the National Green Tribunal's (NGT) interim order on halting all work at Amaravati,

Union Minister for Forests and Environment Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday announced that Amaravati had all environmental clearances and hence there should be no problem in going ahead with the work on the capital.

Clarifying to the media which sought to know whether any application was made out by the AP Government or whether any clearances had been pending with his Ministry, Javadekar said: "It is all clear. All clearances are there."

However, he did not elaborate further on the same.Claiming that the capital city was being planned on wet lands, flood plains, forest lands and fertile lands against the conservation rules of ecology and without environmental and other clearances,

petitioner P Srimannarayana had sought the NGT to halt work on Amaravati. A bench comprising Justice U D Salvi and Justice Ranjan Chatterjee of the Tribunal had asked the AP Government last Saturday to stop all work on it till such clearances had been obtained.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is in town to invite who’s who to the grand celebration of Amaravati to be held on October 22.

The Chief Minister met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally extend the invitation on Wednesday morning. He also invited veteran politicos like L K Advani and A B Bardan.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, were also invited.

The Chief Minister had spoken to the other CMs and heads of all political parties to extend telephonic invitation for the function, sources said.

He also has invited Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other Central cabinet members.

Arrangements to rope in national and international media are also on the way.

Meanwhile, Spicejet announced additional special commercial flights between New Delhi and Vijayawada via Hyderabad for the function on October 21 and 22.
