Hyderabad: TDP National Committee general secretary Nara Lokesh ‘virtually’ started taking important decisions with regard to party activities. He held series of meetings with the party leaders of Andhra Pradesh and sought their opinions on party’s role in developing the residuary state of AP.

Sources said that Lokesh in the meeting attended by leaders including AP unit party president Kala Venkat Rao discussed in detail the strengths and weaknesses of the party.

Leaders informed Lokesh the necessity of the active involvement of party cadre in reaching the benefits of the development and welfare programmes launched by the TDP government to the needy.

The leaders brought to the notice of the party’s general secretary the delay in the appointment of nominated posts in Corporations and other organisations in the government. Lokesh told the leaders that he would discuss all the issues including filling up of posts in the government and the party with his father and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Sources said Lokesh stressed more on strengthening the party from grass root level and take up intensified campaign on government schemes.

To double up party’s strength and speed up its activities, he instantly appointed some leaders as party in-charges in the districts. Senior leader V Ramaiah has been appointed as in-charge of Kurnool and Chittoor districts, Jayanageshwar Reddy would look after Kadapa and Anantapur districts, Reddy Subramaniyam ( Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and West Godavari), G Buchaiah Chowdary (Guntur , Prakasam and Nellore) and Rama Naidu has been asked to oversee the party affairs in Visakhapatnam, Krishna and East Godavari districts.
