Vijayawada: A delegation of the Australian government led by its Minister for Energy, Citizenship and Multicultural Interests, Mike Nahani, met the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Monday and promised support to the Andhra Pradesh government in various developmental initiatives. The delegation promised to extend support in the fields of mines, fisheries and dairy development.

The Australian Minister, along with a team of officials and delegates met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his camp office. He briefed the CM about their expertise in gold, diamonds, bauxite, beach sand and other mines. We have a 100-year-old Mining University that stands as great support to the country’s major economical activity, he added.

Responding to the information shared by the Australian delegation, Naidu informed them that AP too has rich reserves of iron ore, bauxite, beach sand, limestone and added that the government would process these reserves and export them. The Australian Minister assured to help Andhra Pradesh in using minerals and exporting the processed minerals.

Mike Nahani also promised to extend support to the Andhra Pradesh government in developing and exporting dairy products, fisheries, prawns and other sea food.

The Chief Minister requested Mike Nahani to help the State in processing and exporting sea foods and dairy products. Recalling the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Australia and invitation to invest in India, the Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh was best place for foreign investments and wanted him to promote investments in the State.

The officials of the Andhra Pradesh and Australian governments were present during the meeting.
