Reiterating that the TDP government has been awarding irrigation contracts to chosen contractors and companies with inflated estimates, YSR Congress Party on Friday demanded a white paper on the data of irrigation projects in the State.

It is not just the Kuppam branch canal contract, every project from Handri-Neva, Galeru-Nagari and Pattiseema, the estimates were inflated and given to favoured contractors, party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma told reporters here.
The estimate of Handri-Neva was hiked from Rs 194 crore to Rs 558 crore, while Rs 12 crore Galeru Nagari project, of which 90 per cent of the work was completed has been increased to Rs 110 crore and the contract was bagged by the company owned by a TDP Union Minister. The same method was followed for Pattiseema and TDP did not make any effort to pursue the Centre sponsored Polavaram project.
The party is demanding a white paper on the data of irrigation projects during the 18 month term of N Chandrababu Naidu, she said.
