Japanese team visits Gajuladinne project

Gonegandla (Kurnool): An official team from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Saturday inspected Gajuladinne project modernisation works taken up at a cost of Rs 43 crore. The team members enquired about the progress of left and right canal works. They also held a meeting with members of the Water Users’ Association.

Some members urged the team to recommend for extension of more JICA aid for modernisation of irrigation projects in the district keeping in view the rise in material costs. Later, the Japanese team members planted saplings at the project site. Irrigation Executive Engineer Bhaskar Reddy, DE Lakshman Kumar and other officials accompanied the team.
