Guntur: District Collector Kantilal Dande has said inculcation of sports in differently abled children is crucial as it creates self-confidence among the physically handicapped. Participating as chief guest in the World Disabled Day function at Police Parade Grounds here on Saturday, Kantilal said that disability was confined to only the body and not to the mind and intellectual capabilities. Sports would help in bringing out the inherent talent and skill in a person. Sports would make the individual sound confident. MLC A S Rama Krishna said that the disabled persons were proving to be better than the so called abled persons.
Guntur West MLA Mustafa said that society should shower love and give respect to the disabled persons. Disabled Welfare deputy director K Achutharamaiah informed that 1,500 persons took part in the sports competitions held to mark the
occasion.
