Visakhapatnam: India’s oldest and largest shipping trade union- National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) has pledged to help the flood victims of Tamil Nadu by donating a sum of Rs 15 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. As a part of it, the Vizag-based members of NUSI contributed huge amounts and still sending their contributions to the NUSI head office in Mumbai, which has opened a separate bank account to accept flood relief donations from all its members across the country.

General secretary-cum-treasurer of the NUSI Abdulgani Y Serang felt happy with the liberal contributions of Vizag-based seafarers and their appeal to local shipping companies and maritime training institutes for contributions. Details can be obtained on phone No 09133358689.
