MCR embarks on household survey

Special teams have been formed to conduct a survey including all 66,000 houses to study violations, pending approvals, constructions without approvals, differences in levying taxes and issues related to drinking water connections and other facilities under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation of Rajahmundry (MCR), according to Commissioner of MCR V Vijayakumar Raju.

Rajahmundry: Special teams have been formed to conduct a survey including all 66,000 houses to study violations, pending approvals, constructions without approvals, differences in levying taxes and issues related to drinking water connections and other facilities under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation of Rajahmundry (MCR), according to Commissioner of MCR V Vijayakumar Raju.

He told reporters on Saturday that different task force teams would submit report after thorough study of the mentioned aspects. The teams were instructed to go as per book. Any interference from outside would not be tolerated.

He also mentioned that tax revenue would improve with the move. Tax evaders would be penalised. He invited all sections of people including media to give ideas to keep the city clean and green. He also sought suggestions from people on enhancing the beauty of city, besides protecting heritage, culture and ancient buildings.
