Vijayawada: A free breast screening camp-cum-awareness session will be held at Liberty Hospitals near Kanuru here on Sunday. The session was aimed at educating teenage girls and mothers on how to deal with problems and differences in formation of breasts along with the symptoms and causes of cancer, according to Dr Sumita Shankar, a plastic surgeon.

Addressing newsmen at Liberty Hospitals, Dr Sumita said, “Unlike Western countries, in India the number of avenues for women to discuss such problems with professionally competent people are limited. They may not be coming up to discuss about their problems owing to natural inhibition and social taboo. Problems like sagging breasts, nipple inversion, Gigantomastia, asymmetrical breasts, lumps might be genetic disorders and can be dealt with plastic surgery. Fat transmission is a technique where body fat can be transferred to the breasts in case of absence. There are many surgical procedures to correct the problems and people should avail them,” she said.

At the awareness programme, breasts would be screened for cancer by consultant surgical oncologist Nanda Rajaneesh who comes from Bangalore. Amaze Med Spa, to treat with such problems, has been launched in Guntur and we are planning to enter the city soon to offer cosmetology and plastic surgeries to the needy.”
Managing partner of Amaze Med Spa Y N Praveena and others were present.
