Kurnool: The district administration is gearing up for the housing for all scheme, which is being implemented by the Central and State governments.
As many as 18,600 houses are allotted for Kurnool district and the city alone has got 10,000 under this scheme. Already 2000 people applied online. People are queuing up at ‘Mee-Seva’ centers to enroll their names. Beneficiaries have to pay Rs 50, 000 in advance while Central government will bear Rs 80,000 and the State will give Rs 2 lakh.
The remaining Rs 2 lakh will be mobilised as bank loans. The housing would be in G+3 model and those who got D-pattas in 2009 would be given priority, said Kurnool Municipal Commissioner Ravindrababu.
