One dies, 45 injured as tourist bus hits lorry
A person died and 25 Ayyappa devotees suffered serious injuries when the bus in which they were travelling hit a stationed lorry at Renangivaram village under Panguluru mandal in Prakasam district.
Ongole: A person died and 25 Ayyappa devotees suffered serious injuries when the bus in which they were travelling hit a stationed lorry at Renangivaram village under Panguluru mandal in Prakasam district. The condition of 10 injured is said to be serious, and were shifted to Ongole and Vijayawada for better treatment.
The deceased Manikantha (22), assistant and son of the bus driver, died immediately when the bus rammed into the stationed lorry. The incident occurred when around 30 Ayyappa devotees, belonging to Santabommali town and Harischandrapuram in Kotabommali mandal in Srikakulam district, were returning home after visiting pilgrim centre Sabarimala. The local police registered a case of negligent driving against bus driver and initiated investigation.
