Vijayawada: Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao directed the police officials to make arrangements for free flow of traffic as lakhs of devotees visit Durga temple for Bhavani Deeksha conclusion scheduled to start from December 31. Addressing review meeting of officials in Vijayawada on Saturday, the Minister said the vehicle users coming from Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Chennai are facing difficulty due to traffic problem in the city as the national highway near Durga temple ghat road was closed for construction of flyover.

The Minister asked the officials to divert the vehicles plying on national highway through G Konduru, Sitarampuram and Inner Ring Road to prevent traffic congestion in the city. He asked the officials to speed up the construction of flyover near Ramavarappadu Ring to ease traffic problem in the city.

The Minister asked the municipal authorities to improve the condition of roads around Indrakeeladri as devotees observing Bhavani Deeksha prefer to make Giri pradakshina before concluding their deeksha. DCP K Suryachandra Rao, ACPs TV Nagaraju, D Sravankumar and others were present.
