Three new police stations in Nellore dist soon: Sanjay

Nellore: Guntur Range Inspector General (IG) of Police N Sanjay said three more police stations would be set up in Nellore district. He addressed the police officials in connection with annual review meet here on Monday and said the new stations in city would be at Kondayapalem and Dhanalakshmipuram and another at Varagali in Chillakur mandal.

The additional police station in Chillakur mandal has been necessitated due to setting up thermal power plants and other industrial units in the region. Further, Krishnapatnam police station would be upgraded from station house officer to circle inspector level, he said.

The IG also underscored the need for reorganisation of sub-divisional level police stations which would be taken up next year. He also said grading of police stations would be taken up based on set parameters.
A gigantic exercise has been carried out for the reorganisation of police stations in the district and finally took a decision for improving redressal resolving mechanism to reduce financial burden on the department.
The senior police official said that the department has been setting up I-Click centres at various places in the district. He said Rs 5.70 lakh needed for setting up each centre and the department requires a total of Rs 5 crore for installing servers at these centres.
Sanjay said that the Police department is making plans to give wide publicity for I-Click centres with celebrities. He advised the officials to focus on improving confidence among people on policing system by accepting their complaints without creating hurdles and at the same time quick response to the grievances and other problems
related to the public.
The IG further said they had requested the State government for allocation of the revenue gained from various imposed fines. He asked police officials to make sincere efforts to resolve public grievances. District SP Dr G Bhupal, Additional SP R Gangadhar and other police officials were present.
