Vijayawada: State-run BSNL has been attracting more number of customers after introducing free roaming, according to V Sundar, senior General Manager, telecom district, Krishna.

Disclosing the achievements of the BSNL during 2015-16, he said that the BSNL added 53,495 new mobile customers during April to November 2015. He said that there is an increase of 100 per cent data usage from 176 TB to 353 TB compared to last year. He said that night free calling facility introduced from land line received good response from public. The senior general manager said the BSNL introduced new data STVs with low data tariffs compared to other operators.

He said that the BSNL offers 3G services at all mandal headquarters in the district. He said that the BSNL 4G services are expected to be introduced during October or September this year. DGM (administration) Sarat Babu, DGMs M V Rao, Ram Prasad and T Varaprasad were present.
