No takers for rations, pensions anywhere
Even though, the State government is enabling the people by providing social security pensions and rice and pulses on ration cards from anywhere in the State, a majority of people are not utilising it.

“This is a good scheme for the people to avail ration or pension from wherever they are staying by submitting necessary documents to authorities concerned. But most of the people are not coming forward to avail it, may be due lack of awareness” says S Dill Rao, project director of district rural development authority
At present, most of the people from Vizianagaram district have migrated to Guntur, Krishna, Hyderabad, East, West Godavari districts for their livelihood. Though they have ration cards and eligible for old age and widow pensions in their native district they are unable to avail these facilities since they are staying from their home town or villages.
