52 Markfed centres to buy red gram

Kurnool: Andhra Pradesh Markfed (Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited) will set up 52 centres in the district to purchase red gram from farmers at market price. Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday, Markfed district manager Sivaramakrishna said more centres would be set up in Dhone, Pattikonda, Alur, Yemmiganur, Nandikotkur and other mandals where the red gram crop acreage was high.
The centres would purchase red gram from farmers at a price fixed by the government on a daily basis by taking into consideration the supply and demand for pulses, he said.
