Kurnool: Collector Ch Vijaymohan and Superintendent of Police AK Ravikrishna on Sunday reviewed the arrangements at Ratana and Perapali villages in Thuggali mandal for Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s tour in the district on January 6. The meeting decided that Naidu would launch the third phase of Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme in Ratana village in the district. About 10,000 are expected to attend his public meeting.

After inspecting the streams near Naidu’s public meeting venue, the Collector directed DWMA project director Pulla Reddy to dig out ponds of 30 metres depth. He wanted R&B superintendent engineer DA Obulesu to make arrangements in the adjoining field for Naidu’s copter to land. He would launch the ponds digging work. The Collector appealed for digging of ponds on a war-footing, while asking the officials to approve de-silting work around local stream.

Vijaymohan stated farmers should be encouraged to go in for one farm pond in every five acres, where 4,700 acres were available for irrigation in Ratana village. He wanted DWMA to get ready proposals to dig 50 farm ponds by the time Naidu’s undertakes his tour. The Collector suggested to the Superintendent of Police to take up the security arrangements.

Joint Collector Hari Kiran, Pulla Reddy, Obulesu, Irrigation SE Chandrasekhar Rao and the R & B SE were among those present.
