Govt aims to provide internet access to every house: Sujatha

Eluru: Minister for Women and Child Welfare Peethala Sujatha has said that every house in Andhra Pradesh will get internet connection with bandwidth of 10-15 mbps for less than Rs 150 per month, from June, 2016.

She took part in Janmabhoomi phase III programme at Lingapalem village in Chintalapudi constituency in the district on Sunday.

Speaking at the grama sabha, the Minister said internet, cable and mobile connection will be provided to all households at Rs 150 per month. She said that the government is committed to the welfare of people and added that the TDP government has honoured all the pre-poll promises.

The Minister said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is giving top priority for the uplift of the poor in the State. She said the government has sanctioned one lakh farm ponds to the district under Pantha Sanjeevani scheme.

She said that each Assembly segment in the district is likely to get 600 borewells under the second phase of NTR Jalasiri, a scheme meant to irrigate every acre of available land and to help the small and marginal farmers utilise the groundwater on permanent basis. For agriculture, irrigation facilities will be provided by completing the Polavaram project and interlinking of rivers Godavari, Krishna and Penna, she added.

The Minister said that on the first day of Janmabhoomi phase III programme, ration cards, title deeds, cheques to DWCRA women, Chandranna Sankranti Kanukalu and pensions worth Rs 1.63 crore have been distributed to the beneficiaries in the district.

DWAMA project director D Venkat Reddy, Village sarpanch Kesina Srihari, ZPTC members Gutta Sai Satya Varaprasad, Ganta Sudheer Kumar, Mandal Parishad president Morampudi Mallikarjuna Rao and others participated in the meeting.
