Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed ire over officials for their failure to digitalise the land records. He said officials should change their attitude for effective implementation of government programmes. While addressing the Janmabhoomi programme at Penuganchiprolu village of Krishna district on Tuesday, the Chief Minister interacted with a woman to know her grievances. When she said that she tried hard to get pattadar passbook, Naidu said there was no necessity of pattadar passbooks hereafter as the government has been planning to digitalise the land records and the information would be available to land owners on their mobile.
The Chief Minister questioned the VRO over the delay in issuing 1B forms to land owners. When she could not answer his question, the Chief Minister pulled up both the MRO and Joint Collector over the delay in updating the land records. He asked the villagers over the updation of records and when there was negative reply and uproar over the delay, Naidu chided the officials and directed them to speed up the process. He warned the officials of strict action if they failed to complete the task efficiently.
Later, Naidu questioned the sarpanch about the problems in the village. When the woman sarpanch failed to give a reply, her husband came to her rescue. The Chief Minister enquired about the NRIs contribution for the development of the village. The deputy sarpanch said that 50 NRIs were present in the village. Naidu enquired about the efforts made by the deputy sarpanch in getting funds from the NRIs towards Janmabhoomi programme.
When he could not provide an answer to his question, Naidu expressed unhappiness over the
attitude of both the officials and party leaders towards the Janmabhoomi programme. The CM asked the deputy sarpanch to implement Panta Sanjivini programme in the village and assured complete financial assistance.
While interacting with an old man Ramanadham, Naidu turned emotional and said that as per the assurance given by him during his padayatra, he would protect the elders as their eldest son. To fulfill the promise, he had enhanced the old-age pension, he pointed out. Ramanadham who is suffering from paralysis said that he wanted to end his life but he later changed his decision when the government sanctioned him monthly pension. And now he is able to feed himself. The Chief Minister was moved by the comments made by the elderly man and vowed to protect the interests of the old people. When Naidu asked Ramanadham if he required any further help, the old man sought sanction of TVS tricycle. The CM immediately sanctioned the tricycle.
Later, Naidu sanctioned Rs 20 crore for the development of Penuganchiprolu village. He said that the Tirupatamma Devastanam would adopt the village and sanction Rs 3 crore. The government would sanction another Rs 17 crore for the development of the village.
