Janmabhoomi crosses halfway mark in Kurnool

Kurnool: The third phase of Janmabhoomi – Maa Vooru programme which began on January 2, has crossed the halfway mark in the district in conduct of meetings in village panchayats and municipal wards.

According to official sources here, Janmabhoomi meetings were held in 615 panchayats and municipal wards in the district till Wednesday. As many as 552 panchayats and municipal wards are yet to be covered under the third phase of Janmabhoomi which concludes on January 11.

About 20,000 applications pertaining to issuance of ration cards, sanction of pensions and allotment of house sites have so far been received from poor people during Janmabhoomi meetings. The district administration is determined to ensure the success of the third phase of Janmabhoomi programme in Kurnool by covering the remaining panchayats and municipal wards by January 11.
