Visakhapatnam: National president of Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (FSME) Arani Prasanth Kumar Reddy appealed to the Central and State governments to encourage small and medium enterprises so as to fulfil the target of Make in India and Swarnandhra Pradesh initiatives.

Expressing confidence to register an increase of 25 per cent in the growth rate of GDB by 2020, Arani Prasanth Kumar Reddy said here on Saturday that it would be possible only with the small and medium enterprises.

He further stated that presently, the small and medium enterprises were contributing 42 per cent in the total Indian exports, which would be increased further, if the governments encourage them with various incentives.

As land, power, taxes and bank loans are the important factors for setting up of any industry, he urged both the Central and State governments to resolve their problems in this regard and to accord full rights on the land allotted to the industrialists.

The small and medium enterprises, he claimed are providing employment to more persons with an investment of Rs 1 crore and underscored the need for setting up of Skill Development Centres in each district to train the work force.

Reddy disclosed that the enterprises, which were set up in Nellore and Prakasam districts by the FSME, are yielding good results.
