Tirupati: Chandragiri YSRCP MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy stressed on taking up development works on apolitical basis to ensure no discrimination in extending the benefits provided by the State government to the needy poor. On Saturday, Bhaskar Reddy participated in the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme organised at various places in his Assembly constituency.

Speaking at a meeting in NR Kandriga in Ramachandrapuram mandal and Perumallapalli in Tirupati Rural, the MLA said that there should not be room for politics except during elections. “All should join hands after election to accelerate development and ensure the fruits of the welfare schemes are reached the eligible ones,” he added. In this connection, he said that when he was TUDA chairman he took up development works even in the panchayats controlled by the TDP and never resorted to discrimination.

Reddy made an appeal to officials to work impartially without bowing to pressures from any political party for extending the benefits of government schemes to all. Earlier, he also addressed a Janmabhoomi meeting in Gangudupalli. Tahsildars Kiran Kumar, Yugandhar and others were present. MLA distributes Chandranna Kanuka MLA Suguna participated in a Janmabhoomi meeting organised in 18th division in Tirupati on Saturday.

She distributed Chandranna Sankranti Kanuka to beneficiaries and also issued ration cards and pensions. Addressing the gathering, she assured that ration cards, pensions and house sites will be provided to every eligible and asserted that the TDP is keen on the welfare of the poor.

The MLA said that it was the TDP which was responsible for the development of Tirupati where many institutions like BIRRD, SVIMS hospitals, and other institutions came up during the TDP regime while Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday declared to develop the pilgrim city as a mega city. TDP Vaidya Vibhagam district secretary R Sudharani, Additional Municipal Commissioner Sridevi, Revenue Officer Sethu Madhav and others were present.
