Chittoor: Minister for Forest and Environment Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy made a scathing attack on the YSRCP stating that it was making false and baseless allegations against the TDP government to gain political mileage. In fact, the party has no moral right to speak against the government as it failed to win the mandate in the last elections, he pointed out.

Participating at the Grama Sabha meeting here on Sunday at Piler, the Minister said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is committed to developing the poor and neglected sections, has proposed to present ‘Chadranna Kanuka’ to all the BPL families in the State to celebrate Sankranti.

YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has made a statement against Chandranna Kanuka scheme. Above 1.5 crore BPL families are expected to celebrate the festival by using the essential commodities meant for the festival under the scheme, he added.

He reiterated that no force would stop the progress of the State as the Chief Minister has clear vision for the all-round development of the State. The Chief Minister is personally monitoring the progress of various irrigation projects and added that Handri-Neeva water would be diverted to Chittoor district for mitigating the drinking water crisis and providing water for irrigation in a phased manner.

He termed the Janmabhoomi programme a big hit in the State while the entire administration, people’s representatives and bureaucrats are taking part to resolve the problems of the public with commitment.

He has enlisted the achievements of the government and the steps being taken by the Chief Minister for developing the State in multi-dimensions particularly in power sector and industrial development.

He instructed the District Collector to keep tabs on the distribution of Chandranna Sankranti Kanuka kit which should be completed before the festival.

G Srinivasulu, MLC, said that there was tremendous response from the BPL families to receive Chandranna Kanuka in Chittoor district, while the revenue officials are monitoring the distribution of the essential commodities in various mandals.
