Hyderabad: Justice MSK Jaiswal of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday dismissed the anticipatory bail application of YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy.

The MP is facing a criminal charge after he allegedly assaulted an Air India official at Tirupati airport. Public Prosecutor Posani Venkateswarlu informed the court that the police had issued a notice to the MP and sought a reply from the latter. He recalled that the MP had promised to appear before the police after December 31, and found fault with his plea to seek bail for the second time.

Noting that there exists no ground for the vacation court to interfere, the judge reiterated the earlier order of the High Court, and directed the police to follow the CrPC procedure under 41-A and dismissed the MP’s plea.
