Demanding the Andhra Pradesh government to clarify its stand on the special status category to the state, the YSRCP party stated that the special status was the only way to accelerate the development in the state.

The party further stressed that until the state gives clarity on the issue, the events such as Partnership Summit would be termed as publicity and self-promotion. YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana said that while Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu made tall claims on development indicators, in reality, the situation is weak and the Union Ministers clarified that the special status category is not to be accorded for the state.

Botcha Satyanarayana, however, stated that the effort to attract investments and entrepreneurs is a positive sign but added that it would be practical only if the state is granted special status category. The YSRCP leader referred to the Partnership Summit where the state signed 361 MoUs estimating around Rs. 5 lakh crore investments and said the figures mentioned were farfetched as the previous TDP government tenure failed to bring any major industry to the State.
