Minister for Urban Development P Narayana assures farmers that their Grama Kantams will not be disturbed

Amaravati (Guntur): The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has been conducting awareness meetings on the capital master plan in the capital region villages to elicit farmers’ opinions, particularly to objections if any on any of the contents of the plan. The CRDA which is on the job since January 12, has already conducted awareness meet at Uddandarayunipalem.

This meeting was earlier boycotted by the farmers demanding that the government settle Grama Kantam lands issues first and also change the road route map which shows roads passing through the middle of their residential areas in the village. Besides the villagers wanted the government to allot their residential plots right in their village and not in another village.

Minister for Urban Development P Narayana gave a categorical assurance that their Grama Kantas will not be disturbed. He said that the government will not allow roads to pass through villages against farmers’ wishes. The CRDA has already conducted awareness meetings at Nelapadu, Ananthavaram, Shakamooru, Abburajupalem and Borupalem on January 12.

The meetings were held at Rayapudi, Lingayapalem, Kondarajumalipalem and Iyanavolu on January 13. On January 18, the CRDA officials will be holding awareness meetings at Thullur, Nekallu, Dondapadu, Pichukulapalem, mandadam, Velagapudi, Malkapuram and Venkatapalem on January 19.
