The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is expected to make use of his participation in the 46th annual meeting of World Economic Forum (WEF) to strengthen the investment flow into the state.

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is expected to make use of his participation in the 46th annual meeting of World Economic Forum (WEF) to strengthen the investment flow into the state. According to the sources, the Chief Minister is looking forward to rope in internationally reputed companies to boost employment opportunities and to encourage export oriented units in the State.

The WEF is to be held in Davos from January 20 to 23, 2016. Naidu will leave for Davos on January 18 along with several ministers and officials. As part of the investment campaign, the AP government is showcasing State as rewarding investment destination. It has branded a special bus decorating with “Make Andhra Pradesh Your Business” posters, which is making rounds in the streets of Davos.

Interestingly, it is for the first time that Andhra Pradesh government has branded a bus in Davos to make the state, an investors’ port of call. After successfully attracting about Rs 5 lakh crore investments in the recently-held CII Partnership Summit at Visakhapatnam, the government is now aiming to attract a huge flow of investments into the state, especially Amaravati, the new capital.

The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Department has also placed hoardings in the city of Davos. Officials said that there are several such attractions at the Summit that will impress upon investors. Apart from participating in sessions, the Chief Minister will also hold bilateral and one-on-one meetings with industrialists, businessmen and experts from various fields.

Principal Secretary Industries S S Rawat and Director of Industries Kartikeya Mishra have already in Davos to make necessary arrangements in coordination with the India Embassy officials in Switzerland.

According to sources, the proposed meetings with the CEOs of reputed companies from sectors like Hospitality, Infrastructure, Aerospace and Defence, Medical Instrumentation, etc. During the three-day summit, Naidu would make a presentation on the opportunities in the Sun-Rise-State of Andhra Pradesh. He may also sign MoUs with some reputed companies.
