Chilakaluripet (Guntur): Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu has revealed that the Social Welfare department is implementing Rs 50 crore worth development schemes in Chilakaluripeta constituency.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Ravela said that his ministry was building a Gurukula Patasala at Yedlapadu with an investment of Rs 21 crore with all the modern amenities for the benefit of 1,000 residential school children. The residential school would also provide computer and technical education to the students apart from offering skill development programmes. The school would be developed as the best in the State.

The Minister said that under the SC/ST Sub-plan, an additional Rs 22 crore was released for development of cement roads in SC colonies in the constituency.

Agriculture Minister Pulla Rao claimed that the TDP government was pro-farmer to the core. It would suitably reward the farmers who sacrificed their lands for the capital building, he promised.

Member of Parliament Rayapati Sambasiva Rao also spoke.
