Vijayawada: The all-party round table meet organised to discuss the Amaravati capital master plan, here on Tuesday decided to launch protest seeking changes in master plan and against earmarking of agricultural zones.

Addressing the meeting former minister and YSRCP leader K Parthasarathi alleged that the State government is trying to benefit the Singapore companies by earmarking agricultural zones in capital region. “The government issued a GO in 2010 extending the jurisdiction of urban development authority, the agricultural zones that are marked in the master plan are in direct violation of the GO,” he stated.

Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) vice-president Devineni Rajasekhar asserted that the farmers of both Krishna and Guntur districts would be at loss with the agricultural zone in the master plan. He said the all-party meeting decided to launch agitation against anti-people policies of Chandrababu Naidu.

CPM capital region committee convener Ch Babu Rao alleged that the State government was trying to benefit the Singapore company by earmarking 13.5 lakh acres as agricultural zone in both Krishna and Guntur districts. He said that the assembly should discuss on the master plan before taking a final decision.

The all party leaders decided to submit representations to CRDA commissioner on Wednesday and lay siege the CRDA office on January 25, if the government fails to make changes in the master plan. They said that the development should be decentralised and the government should not take unilateral decision on land acquisition for inner ring road and outer ring road.

They said that the government should protect the powers of local bodies in capital region. The all-party leaders sought a discussion on the issue in Assembly before taking a final decision. CPM leader R Raghu, Rytu Sangham leader Y Kesava Rao, CITU leader DV Krishna, CPM city Secretary D Kasinath, CPI leader Akkineni Vanaja and others were also present.
