YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy consoled the family members of Rohith Vemula, a Dalit research scholar of the University of Hyderabad (UoH), who hanged himself 15 days after he was expelled from his hostel.
He called up Rohith's mother over the phone and expressed his deep grief and sympathies to the bereaved family members. He enquired about the incidents that happened in the university and assured her that he would support the family.
Taking a serious view of the most unfortunate development in the campus that led to the tragic end of a young Dalit scholar, YS Jagan demanded that culprits, whoever they may be brought to book and severely punished.
