Illicit liquor case: Vijayawada court grants bail to ex MLA Malladi Vishnu Vardhan

The Vijayawada court on Friday granted conditional bail to former Congress MLA Malladi Vishnu Vardhan in connection with the adulterated liquor tragedy where nearly five people lost their lives after consuming illicit liquor in Krishna district recently.

However, the court imposed several conditions on him including asking him to not leave the country without prior permission, not tamper with the evidence and join the probe as and when required. He should sign in the register at least once in week at the Krishna Lanka police station.

Five people were killed and 29 were hospitalized after drinking suspected adulterated liquor at a bar in Krishna Lanka in Vijayawada and police booked cases against the bar owner and several others.
